To our Dearest Mums: we understand it can be tough to be a working mom.

The skill of using your precious time wisely can be challenging and overwhelming, especially at the end of a long working day!

For this reason, it’s essential to make the most of your time, all the time!

So here are some tips to help you spend more of your valuable time with what really matters to you: your Family.

Tip number 1 – Stock your pantry

Always keep a variety of pasta, rice, canned beans and healthy grains like quinoa & cus cus in your pantry. These items won’t go off quickly, so it saves you shopping time and helps you to avoid food waste.

It’s also important to stock the freezer, as well as the fridge (once a week is ideal if you can) with vegetables and flavor boosters ingredients like curry paste, olives, capers, etc. With these on hand, creating delicious family dinners happens easily.

To be considered: Some convenience products are worth buying! Not everything has to be made from scratch to be healthy. Don’t be too hard on yourself Mum!

Tip number 2 – Collect recipes & create a “recipe queue”

Collect recipes you like every time you come across a different one, and then put them into a folder. If you don’t do this, chances are you won’t remember where you saw that delicious-looking casserole recipe. If you can’t have the print version of the recipe, just use your phone to take a photo or make notes of it!

A Recipe Collection is great as it empowers you to create a huge variety of delicious dinners for the Family, in order to avoid repeating the same one every two days. It’s all about creating a big queue of recipes and following it :)

To be considered: Exchange recipes & tips with other busy Mums. You will be surprised with the new discoveries you might come across!

Tip number 3 – Use a slow cooker/crock-pot

Embrace the slow cooker: This is the working Mum’s finest companion!

You can create a wide variety of recipes with your crock-pot: not just red meat benefit from a long, slow simmer while you’re at work. You can try beans and vegetarian casseroles as well: the possibilities are endless!

Slow cookers are a great shortcut to a healthy meal. All you have to do is throw all of the ingredients in before you start your busy day, and by the time you are back home with the kids, dinner is ready waiting for you!
