The Early Childhood Care and Education (ECCE) Scheme provides a free year of early childhood care and education for children on pre-school age. In general, children are eligible for the ECCE scheme if they are aged over 3 years, provided that they are not older than 5 years and 6 months at the end of the pre-school year).

At Little Harvard, the Children in our care are always our primary concern. We provide positive and meaningful experiences, giving Children the opportunity to excel in all areas in an environment where they feel loved and developed as individuals. We promote the concept of diversity by welcoming all families into our setting and encourage parents to have an active role in their Children’s learning.

Little Harvard Crèche, Pre-Primary and After School Services have 8 Locations around Dublin, Wicklow and Kildare.

About The Ecce Scheme

The ECCE Scheme means that the State pays a capitation fee to participating playschools and daycare services. In return, all participating Playschools provide a pre-school service free of charge to all children within the qualifying age range, for a set number of hours, over a set period of weeks.
In general, children only qualify for ECCE in one school year. However, a child who has been assessed as having learning difficulties, may be able to spread their free pre-school year over 2 years.
